On October 30, 2017, I joined Governor Nathan Deal at the Georgia Department of Economic Development for a very special announcement as Site Selection Magazine once again named Georgia the best state in the nation in which to do business. This marks the fifth consecutive year Georgia has earned that special designation.Growing businesses and creating jobs is important work that impacts people in every corner of this state. We know that government doesn’t create prosperity but it can create an environment in which private business can thrive.Since I became Speaker more than 650,000 new, private-sector jobs have been created in Georgia. That’s 650,000 people who can work to support themselves and their families. That’s 650,000 people who have the ability to lift themselves up and achieve the American dream.I’m proud to work with Governor Deal and my colleagues in the General Assembly to ensure that Georgia remains the #1 destination for businesses in America.
