ATLANTA—Today House Speaker David Ralston joined Governor Deal at the state capitol where the Governor announced that Georgia’s business climate has been named No. 1 in the nation by Site Selection magazine, one of the nation’s top economic development trade publications.
“Today’s announcement that Georgia’s business climate has been named No. 1 in the nation is evidence that our economy is rebounding and job growth momentum is on our side,” said House Speaker David Ralston. “Because of the common sense, fiscally responsible policies we have passed in recent years, we are creating a climate that encourages job growth and new businesses to come to Georgia. For example, take our tax reform package the General Assembly passed in 2012 and that the Governor signed into law. These reforms have been key in helping propel our state forward. A number of businesses have relocated to Georgia or expanded their operations here including Baxter International, Caterpillar and Engineered Floors in Dalton, among others. I am committed to working with Governor Deal and other legislators to continue implementing these types of conservative reforms that will benefit all of areas of Georgia, including the 7th House District. Today’s announcement puts job creators on notice across the nation and the world that Georgia is in fact the best place in the nation to do business.”
